Well what a summer and Autumn we are having, apart from the odd day we have had some cracking weather and this has allowed us to get out to the marks where our anglers have enjoyed excellent sport on a variety of species.
The smooth hounds have moved off now but we have had an excellent Autumn on the Bass, not as many as previous years buy a good average size with plenty of fish over 6lb.
There are more thornbacks showing inshore now with plenty of fish up to 10lb or so, best baits are squid which will catch you most other species as well. There are plenty of whiting showing with more better fish turning up all the time.
Now for the million dollar question every one is asking : will we get any cod this year. Well we have seen odd ones so far and there are reports of some on the piers. The water temperature is still above where it needs to be for the time of year but as the clocks go back and we get in to November we should see some more turning up.
Keep it all crossed and tight lines.
